EMPLOYMENT PLANNING SERVICES
Employment planning services are designed to assist individuals in determining their vocational goals. Using a person-centered approach, participants learn about employment opportunities within the community and are then able to make informed choices about their employment future.
These services are designed to assist individuals in choosing employment outcomes and career development options that are based on his or her preferences, strengths, abilities and needs. Our services offer a variety of activities including job tryouts, job tours, job shadowing, labor market analysis, community-based assessments, and possibilities for volunteering in the community.
The intended outcome of participation in Morningside’s Employment Planning Services is to provide the participant with valuable information that can be used in his or her pursuit of satisfactory employment. Examples of some specific outcomes include:

Identify transferable work skills. |

Individuals will also have an understanding of what, if any, impact employment may have on their Social Security benefits.
Additional individualized information may include:
identify job modification or accommodation needs; understand learning styles;
identify support needs; research appropriate jobs available in the local community;
determine training and education needs; and identify specific barriers to the achievement and retention of employment. Community resources for assistance in addressing employment barriers are then made available to the participant.
