| Q: |
HOW QUICKLY CAN I ACCESS MORNINGSIDE’S EMPLOYMENT SERVICES? |
| A: |
Once Morningside receives a referral from your vocational counselor a meeting is scheduled to gather important information and start the job development process. At this meeting we will
discuss your work experience, job goals, and your action plan. Then we will meet with you and
your counselor to develop your plan. This process takes, on the average, about two weeks. |

| Q |
WHAT MAKES MORNINGSIDE UNIQUE FROM OTHER VOCATIONAL PLACEMENT SERVICES? |
| A: |
One unique feature lies in the fact that we have an outstanding presence in the community.
Morningside has been established for 40 years in the South Sound area. We are a nationally
accredited agency recognized by The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission
(CARF) for excellence in our Community Employment Program. The longevity of our staff allows us to
maintain consistent and effective working relationships with the employers in our community.
Finally, our job developers work as a team, meeting on a weekly basis to share information
regarding employers and job availability. |

| Q: |
HOW SUCCESSFUL IS MORNINGSIDE AT FINDING JOBS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES?
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? |
| A: |
Everyone at Morningside works hard to achieve results. Each year, we place approximately 100 individuals into jobs in the community. (Specific numbers of recent placements are available upon request.) The amount of time it will take varies. It will depend on the type of job you are interested in and the current availability of that kind of employment. For some, it may only take a few days, while for others it may take several weeks or months, or longer. Your job developer will tell you what you can expect. |
|
|
| Q: |
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE JOBS PEOPLE HAVE BEEN PLACED INTO? |
| A: |
Participants have found jobs as billing clerks, customer assistants, kitchen assistants, inventory stock clerks, fiscal technicians, delivery drivers, cashiers, safety office workers, truss manufacturers, household assistants, laborers, laundry clerks, courtesy clerks, furniture sanders, maintenance assistants, and microfilm clerks, to name a few.

|
|
| Q: |
DO I HAVE TO TAKE EVERY JOB THAT IS OFFERED TO ME? |
| A: |
Absolutely not! Your job developer will review available job opportunities with you and your counselor. The final choice is up to you. We will discuss with you the suitability of a job and how it matches with your own vocational interests. Our goal is to help you find the job you want – the one that is right for you. |
|
|
| Q: |
WILL SOMEONE ACCOMPANY ME ON INTERVIEWS OR STAY IN THE BACKGROUND? |
| A: |
The answer depends on you and whatever is comfortable for you. Remember, this program is designed to meet your needs. If you want your job developer to accompany you on an interview, that will be arranged. Or, if you prefer, we will make the necessary arrangements with the employer and you can go to the interview on your own. If you need, we can set up practice interviews with other employers. |
